OurFaves meet and greet…with tattoos and rock n’ roll

11 08 2008

After things settled down post-birthday bash, OurFaves wanted to host another event that would be a little more low-key. So obviously, the first thing that came to mind was live rock karaoke at a tattoo parlour.

Rock us like a hurricane at Tattoo Rock Parlour on 567 Queen Street West tomorrow night on Tuesday, August 12 at 9pm. There is no cover charge, and food, drinks and leather are not included. But we’ll be there, and we hope you will too.

It’s just one of many more gatherings to come, so if you want to keep up with what’s happening next in our fave city, join our Facebook group OurFaves.com Toronto.

OurFaves Field Trips, take one

11 08 2008

As you might expect, the OurFaves team loves to go out and play, but our city-savvy 6-person team sometimes ends up spending all our time together behind computers and around meeting tables instead of behind the scenes and around dinner tables. Hey, aren’t we supposed to be professional citycombers? Why YES! It was high time to make a regular date with our fine selves to take it to the streets, keep up on the good stuff, and have some pure, unadulterated team fun.

Enter the Fave Field Trip, a heretofore weekly excursion in search of the best of everything, and a superfun way for us to connect with some great local businesses and community members on the ground. One day a week, we promise to duck into a meeting room, don our speech-bubble emblazoned tees, and emerge as a favin’ force, ready to try anything, and tell about it.

Since our first field trip took place hot on the heels of the move into our new offices, it seemed only fitting that we visit a lunch joint in our new work ‘hood. So off we went to Sadie’s, vegetarian diner extraordinaire, land of pez dispensers and power shakes, and purveyor of all things meat alternative. It didn’t take long for our branded fashions and posse of enthusiastic diners to attract the attention of patrons and staff, but we were happy to take questions, and spread the word, while happily munching deep-fried tofu and huevos rancheros and sipping our “citrus explosions”. For more details on the grub though, you’ll have to visit the Sadie’s Diner page o’ faves.

Have an idea about where we should go next? We’d love to hear!
