Raise your voice!

Since OurFaves wouldn’t be the collaborative city guide that it is without your voice, we’d love to hear your honest feedback on how we can make the site amazing. In light of our upcoming redesign, we’re hosting a small, intimate discussion group for knowledgeable users whose perspectives really matter to us. We want to know what’s working on the site, what’s not, how we can enhance your user experience, ideas for new applications, etc…we want to hear your honest, critical perspectives so we can make the site the best experience for you. If you would like to participate, please join us this Wednesday, October 1, from 5:30-7pm and/or on Thursday, October 2, from 5:30-7pm at the OurFaves office (590 King Street West, 4th floor) for a pizza dinner and conversation about the site. Please RSVP which evening you will be attending to Wendy at wgoldman@ourfaves.com before Wednesday. We hope to see you there!

  1. I’d like to see an article or reporting series celebrating some of the die hard warriors of Toronto’s restaurant scene; a study of places like Southern Accent.

Lets face it, the grand old dame of Mirvish Village at 595 Markham St. ( 25 years young in 2009 ) has been the putting out the soulful flavors of ol’ N’awlins to diners both local and far flung far longer than some of the bright young chefs normally featured on your site have been out of diapers.

And doubtless there are others ( Barberien’s comes to mind ) that have been the victualing house of choice to generations of Torontonians, and deserve a little renewed celebrity in the reportage that your site aims at the young and trendy.

Times are tough for everyone toiling in foodservice these days (it’s naturally a business in which longevity is a rare thing) so lets give up a little love for some of the old veterans of the food wars that keep on pumping out good food, good cheer, and good times year, after year, after year.
