usability improvements + RSS

We made a couple key improvements on the site at the end of last week. For anyone who was previously gnashing their teeth in frustration whilst browsing through a multi-page list of faves, I have good news for you: paging has been fixed. You can now easily go from page to page in a multi-page list, link off the list and back again to the same spot you left from, and bookmark specific pages.

We also improved the way you create faves by incorporating some handy hints which will hopefully be easier for the new folks, as well as making it more obvious how to go about adding a location to our database.

As well, while we enabled RSS on personal pages a while back, we’ve made the links a bit more obvious and added a page with some links to help you start sharing your recent faves on your blog through RSS.

We are continuing to work on both improvements to the existing site and building some new features, so stay tuned, and if you have a nagging pet peeve or a great idea for a new feature, drop us a line and let us know about it!

  1. i can’t seem to edit my faves very easily, specifically the location information. im trying to change it to include the type of place it is but no changes seem to stick! any idea what’s going on?

  2. Hi Vanessa,

Right now, the parts of your faves that you can edit are:
    – thing
    – location name
    – reason

While you can add location information like address, etc, when you are creating a fave with a new location, you can’t edit this info once the fave is already created. This would obviously be extremely useful and we’ve had a few requests for this recently, so we will be implementing a solution for this in the very near future. In the meantime, you can use the ‘report abuse’ flag and just enter the info in the comment area and we will add the info to the location on the backend.

Thanks for inquiring about this and have a great weekend!

  3. Well, I find it extraordinarily interesting.Good luck to all of you. And I’m sure you’ll do fine. Really. Just fine.
